NWK Farmers

The Peulwana/NWK Emerging Farmers program is a collaboration between Peulwana and NWK.  Peulwana provides funds for emerging farmers that have 100 hectares to plant.  Sunflower and maize have been the preferred crop that has been planted.  Once the farmers graduate by meeting their yield targets and repaying their loans they exit the program into an intermediate program run by NWK.  The objective is to have the farmers become commercial farmers in a period of 3 to 5 years.  Peulwana gives support to the emerging farmers consistently over a period to ensure that the farmers do become commercial farmers.
